Founder
Founder of the Little Servants of the Holy Family
(1943. 12. 25)
“It was not I who founded the Congregation,
it was God Himself.
Whenever I am called 'founder',
I feel as though I were stealing God's glory.
It is only right that God alone receive such glory.“

was born on September 13, 1910, in Hesdin, France.
He entered the Paris Foreign Missions Society(MEP) in 1928 and was ordained a priest on July 7, 1935.
That same year, he was sent to Korea as a missionary, and in 1939 he was appointed pastor of Baek-dong (now Hyehwa-dong) Parish in Seoul.
At the time, the world was engulfed
in the turmoil of World War II,
and Korea, under Japanese colonial rule,
was enduring a bleak period.
In those times,
Fr. Pierre Singer anticipated the future
and destiny that awaited Korea,
and reflected on how the Church could respond.
He paid close attention to women
who deeply desired the consecrated life.
on December 25, 1943,
the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord,
he announced the beginning of the community
together with two of them.
